I am a new mom with two small children and another on the way. I want my children to learn respect for their environment and their planet and I wanted to promote this, in part, by giving them environmentally friendly toys to play with. Other than the obvious choices of sticks and rocks, which are still in their top 5, I wanted to give them simple natural toys made from cloth and wood. Unfortunately it can be hard to find these kinds of toys that are affordable. So, one day in 2009 I made an elephant and a giraffe for my kids out of old cloth we had in the house. They were a hit, not only with the kids but with many people who saw them. Other parents wanted them, not only for their kids and gifts for new moms, but also for themselves. And so, Liv.Well toys was started. The name Liv.Well is from the spark of the idea, my daughter (oLIVia) and my son (maxWELL). Now Liv.Well toys specializes in custom orders, we make toys out of those special baby items you just can't part with, and we sell toys in stores around Ottawa. We are a small home-based company trying to do our part and at the same time, as a bonus, we are making kids and adults happy.
